What do we SEE with?

How many times have we heard ourselves say “yeah it was a pretty dodgy
movie but it was so funny”.
Isnt it funny how a new comedy movie comes out and we make a decision to
see it before we find out what kind of values will be portrayed.
Mass Media sure holds a lot of sway today.

We are at it’s whim- it tells us what our values are, what morals we
will stand by and what the definition of truth is.
I have thought about this before and gone- “but yeah it’s all around us
and therefore too hard to escape its life-defining grip”.

Ravi Zacharias says that we were designed to see WITH our consciences,
THROUGH our eyes. What has happened today is a whole generation is
growing up seeing WITH their eyes, without any measure or standard as a
filter. We as Young Adults have also been caught up in this.

But at some stage we are going to have to take a stand right? Someday I
am going to ask my son or daughter to think hard before they watch a
certain movie or TV show. I sure want my kids to have a keen sense of
what values to stand by.
We have a choice- we can choose.

We can choose an alternative filter for morals, values and truth.
Coming near to the One who knitted the conscience into the very fabric
of humanity is that alternative.
Actually, He is the first, best and most important filter and everything
is the alternative.

Let us continually be challenged to turn off the TV, log-off, phone away
and
Seek The Lord

Keeping in Step

Galatians 5:25 (NIV) - Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step
with the Spirit.

How is everybody going with their “keeping in step” actions from Sunday
night?

Lets continue to have a daily commitment to MOVE towards being
Christ-centred in everything we do.

Together we can do this!

Matthew 6:34
The Message (MSG)
34”Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.

Grace- don’t say it at a dinner table.

Grace pounds us like a dumping wave, a wave that hasn’t been formed
before, a wave that clothes itself in nothing that has been worn before.

Grace pays no respect or attention to convention, or the ways of the
world.

Grace is overwhelming, like that wave that catches us off-guard,
off-balance.

Grace isn’t the opposite direction - it supersedes all prevailing
directions

Grace causes God and Humanity, to clash, to embrace. Wildly,
beautifully, lavishly.

Grace - don’t say it at a dinner table.

Grace - receive it.

Grace - give it.
